Christmas: self-care





Christmas is the time where we give our best to everyone else around us, the time where we try show our love ones how much we love and appreciate them. But in turn we forget to show how much we love and appreciate ourselves.

Christmas is the best time for self-care, we put ourselves through allot of stress over the Christmas period for numerous reasons, some of us feel the loss of loved ones more , others stress about the “perfect” Christmas, but whatever the reason it only makes self-care more important around this time.

Sometimes the financial or personal pressures of Christmas are too much and we need to be able to tell those around us that instead of giving to them this year I need to give to myself. And that could also be their gift to you. Always put your mental wellbeing before the need to please to others, sometimes giving the best of yourself to yourself can make it easier to share relaxed happy memories at Christmas with others without any pressure. Those who I love I would only want them to be there to share happy memories with me than have them tear themselves apart with the stress of giving more this Christmas.

Don’t be afraid to buy yourself the bubble baths, or Christmas candles this year and run yourself a festive bath and just take a deep breathe knowing this year you’re going to look after yourself, so you can give your family the best of you for Christmas.
